French president Emmanuel Macron penned an open letter to the British public in which he said, “You are leaving the European Union, but you are not leaving Europe”, addressing the many UK citizens who were opposed to the Brexit referendum. His sentiment is echoed by the majority of European leaders who have expressed disappointment with this conclusion.
